What positions does Startup Commons recruit interns for?
We recruit both undergraduate and graduate students, thesis workers and freelancers for internship and full-time opportunities in a variety of roles, including Data Modellers, UI/UX Designers, Visual Designers, Front-end developers, ML & AI developers, Technical documenters, Growth Hackers, Video content creator, Sales and PR & Communications. What does the internship interview process look like?
After a first initial assessment, as a next step and as a company with high entrepreneurial spirit and doer attitude, we skip the traditional interviewing process as usual. We prefer seeing candidates in action by working on solving a business challenge that can help us determine the intern's hard and soft skills.
How is the journey as Startup Commons intern?
After qualifying by resolving a business challenge, the internship journey is divided in two phases: a) adopting and learning and b) sharing and supporting. During "Adopting & Learning", our priority is to adjust intern ‘skills to tasks’ for proper challenge & learning path. You will work on real projects, you will take ownership and freedom to develop and deliver, we will provide you with the latest technologies and tools and we will get out of your way. Just let us know what you need to make more progress. And then, during "Sharing & Supporting", in addition to continuing on own tasks, the intern will start sharing own accumulated knowledge to other interns, supporting them and in some cases manage new interns. We fully believe that those interns who spend time teaching what they’ve learned go on to show better understanding and knowledge retention than interns who simply spend the same time doing tasks.

Data Modeler
We are looking for someone that has strong data modelling skills to build new data models from scratch and make modifications to existing data models
UI/UX Designer
The intern will be responsible for the design and implementation of all the experiences a user has when interacting with a digital tool. The UI/UX Designer will work closely with our marketing team and developers to ensure seamless web/mobile design and the successful implementation of UI/UX best practices and principles across all our digital platforms. The intern will investigate user experience design requirements for our suite of digital assets. Producing high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes. Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets. Testing UI elements. Collaborating with the product team, and internal designers to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the digital user. Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyse and predict user behaviour. Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design.
Visual Designers
We are looking for a visual designer to help establish the look and feel for various digital products as well as contribute to marketing materials development. We want the interns to surprise us with their typography, layout and design skills. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, including, designers, developers and product managers to ensure our branding is consistent and appealing. We will initially accept those candidates with aa portfolio of related works.
Front-end Developers
Responsible for coding the front end of applications. She/he will work with clients to design the functionality, look and feel of an application. To review designs created by UI/UX designers; ask any necessary clarifying questions before starting on work. Building ReactJS apps based on UI designs provided. Create prototypes, mockups, and staging sites for review and feedback. The intern will do frontend documentation as part of the company knowledge center to show how visual elements of the interface behave under different circumstances, to help understand how code works, to create similar components in the future and in general to help onboard future candidates in order to save time of software production. Developing a testing plan verifying the frontend functionality, GUI, and Usability. The intern will mainly define and prepare a check-list for a front-end testing plan. By doing that, the testing plan will help to get complete clarity about the scope of the project while giving confidence in deploying the project.
Machine Learning Developers
Startup Commons is seeking machine learning Interns to join the digital team in developing next generation ecosystem orchestration at scale. You will help us bring the best of Artificial Intelligence technology to Startup Commons products. Our efforts are to push the bar in three directions: building a system based on machine learning methods, prepare raw datasets and make them ready for analysis and Use the datasets to train analytical and machine learning models. Additionally, other key responsibilities will be:
- Interpret the data analysis results in the business context
- Communicate results both orally and in written form in clear, concise English
- Document important findings in internal, structured reports
Growth Hackers
We are looking for a Growth Hacker intern to drive adoption of our products and services. You will deploy global marketing strategies designed to drive measurable growth using a mix of channels, mediums and content, in order to demonstrate the value of Startup Commons to stakeholders. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Design and Communications to promote Startup Commons services and new feature sets as they become available. The candidate will be responsible for defining, executing and continuously optimising the marketing strategy and tactics that will drive sales as validated through analytics and insights. We are expecting the candidate is highly creative, thinks outside the box and possesses a test and learn mindset.
Video Content Creators
We are looking for a creator, with strong passion for video storytelling. You will be responsible for shooting videos that demonstrate the value of our solutions and generating exciting and original content designed to help customers find the products that they need to solve their problems. This position requires you to gain a deep understanding and familiarity both with our customers and services.

Sales
We are looking for a qualified sales intern to assist in various stages of the sales funnel, including creating awareness of new offerings, generating leads, and retaining customers. You’ll gain hands-on experience working on challenging, meaningful projects with guidance from a mentor and other members of our team. Your duties and responsibilities will be:
